DJI Phantom 3

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or you just enjoy playing frisbee with your Chihuahua, chances are you’ve more than likely heard about Drones, the government use them, Amazon want to use them, and us R/C nerds want to fly them until it MHz (Megahertz? Get it?).

So the up until now I had no real drive to to invest in one, I have been flying 3D choppers for many years and although I love them I would like to delve into drones now they seem worthwhile and a little more forgiving. From my research online over the years, DJI in my honest opinion have stepped up above the competition.

They have an odd way of selling their products, not sure why they still have the Phantom 2 drone because if you were to buy say the Phantom 2 + H4-3D gimbal it retails for $699 and you need to use your own GoPro, that’s an additional $400 or so, yes the Pro DJI Phantom 3 retails for $1259 but if you add all the parts and additions (4k camera, gimbal, LightBridge etc( already included to say a Phantom 2 you’re looking at over $2800, so it’s WELL worth it in the long run.

The Phantom 3 Pro comes with a 4k camera, 3 axis gimbal and 1.25mile range, DJI LightBridge (allows you to view your flight video live via your favorite mobile device, GPS flight and such, the best thing about this drone is it has a FollowMe mode, return to base (incase you lose contact with the remote etc) and it has a GPS system that you can easily program on your cell phone and give it a pre-determined flight path and it will take off, fly the route (up to 1.25 miles, or 24 minutes of flight time) and then land itself without any manual flight input from you, how neat is gadget technology these days?

They are impressive, and of course I want one as of yesterday, and once I do, prepare for me to drool all over this blog with nerdgasms about it!

So who has one of these bad boys? Care to share your input on them or something similar? Would love some feedback especially from someone that’s either owned a Phantom 2 and bought a Phantom 3.
